THE RUTH HARRIS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD

The Ruth Harris Professional Development Award has been made possible by a grant from the Ruth and Louis Harris Family Foundation.

Purpose: The purpose of the Award is to facilitate the continuing professional development of Academy members as Orton-Gillingham practitioners. It does this by making it possible for qualified members to attend Academy conferences. The Award is to assist the qualifying Academy member in defraying costs associated with travel, accommodations, and conference fees.

Award Criteria: To be considered for the professional development award, an Academy member must be nominated by a Fellow in a one page letter of support recommending the nominee.

A nominee is required to submit The Ruth Harris Professional Development Award Form (print from the link below), together with a one page resume and a short statement as to why you should be considered for the award.

Recipients of awards will be notified by mail, and will be reimbursed upon submission of vouchered expenses. The amount of the award may vary, from year to year. Travel Awards will be available for the Academy Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, April 13 and 14, 2018. Applications must be into the Academy office no later than March 9, 2018. Notification will be emailed to the applicants by March 16, 2018.

Donations to this fund are welcomed. Contributions should be made out to the AOGPE, with a note specifying the Ruth Harris Professional Development Fund.
