Orton-Gillingham Multisensory 70 hour Training Course. This course will provide an overview of the development of written language, recent relevant research information, and techniques to incorporate knowledge of phonology, morphology, semantics, syllabication, and syntax into multisensory teaching of reading, writing, and spelling. The course will follow guidelines set by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators for Associate Level certification. These guidelines also require a practicum, and for those who intend to seek certification a practicum may be arranged on an individual basis. Completion only of the coursework without the practicum will qualify a person for Subscriber membership in the Academy. The course is worth 7 CEUs.
