Basic Introduction to the Orton-Gillingham Approach – This course consists of 60 class hours and an additional minimum of 30 hours of observations, class and lesson plan preparation, and one-on-one practice teaching with a student that will be observed and critiqued Practice teaching/observation is individually arranged. Successful completion of the course meets the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators application criteria for Subscriber Level membership, and, with three additional observations and completion of a required reading list, the criteria for Associate Level membership.This course is approved for 6 undergraduate or graduate credits by Central Michigan University.
