This class consists of 64 hours of coursework. Course topics include: Administration of informal diagnostic assessments, creating OG lesson plans, neurological underpinning of dyslexia and the needs of dyslexic learners, phonological awareness, sound to symbol relationships, reliable spelling patterns, syllable structure, morphemic statue, diagnostic and prescriptive teaching, research based multi sensory, direct and systemic instruction, handwriting instruction, vocabulary instruction, basic comprehension skills, preparing the application to the AOGPE for certification, upon successful completion of the course, trainees will be eligible to undertake the practicum and once completed the practicum apply to the AOGPE for certification.
100 hours practicum available at extra cost.
