The Classroom Educator (CE) course is designed for those interested in learning about the OG approach for group settings. Trainees will learn about the foundations of the OG approach, neurobiology of dyslexia, reading acquisition, the structure of the English language, phonology, spelling rules, syllable types, and syllable division patterns. These hours are also applicable towards Associate Level coursework.

*For teachers who hold a teaching license from New York state, this course also provides 30 CTLE credits.

Practicum: The practicum is a an additional cost of $125 per observation and is for those who want to attain the Classroom Educator level certification from the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA). It consists of 50 hours of a supervised practicum with 2 or more students in a group setting. There are at least 5 observations which are conducted over 8 consecutive months. Each video observation includes constructive feedback The OGA does not offer certification without a practicum.
