Classroom Educator Content

The 35-hour Classroom Educator course is designed to teach those interested in learning about the OG approach for classroom or small group settings. The coursework and practicum follow the guidelines of the Orton-Gillingham Academy Curriculum at the Classroom Educator level. It provides educators with content knowledge in reading acquisition, the neurobiology of dyslexia, the structure of the English language, adaptation of the multisensory, systematic and structured OG approach for classroom instruction, materials, procedures and strategies for the development of lesson plans, as well as assessments, and test interpretation

Practicum: For an additional fee, a supervised practicum with mentorship (a minimum of 5 observations over a minimum of 50 hours) can be requested after the completion of coursework to fulfill the requirements for OGA certification at the CE level.
